22/09/2008  Exterior Lights
The following letter has gone to Trinity regarding exterior lights .................................. Dear Karen, To confirm our conversation last week. On the snagging/fault list I produced some months ago both for TW and Trinity I talked about the ongoing exterior lighting problem. Indeed you witnessed yourself Karen that TW have left wiring exposed, exterior lights not working, and an obvious problem of water penetrating the electrical circuits. We have not had exterior lights operating 100% since January 2007 when I moved in and residents have been complaining all this time. Last month another lighting circuit outside Block A failed. We now have very inadequate lighting and winter approaches. An accident is waiting to happen !!!. Electricians came last week ( as arranged by Trinity) to resolve the most recent problem at Block A (but not the other problems all around the Crescent). He advised there is nothing that can be done. The whole lighting circuit is under water. Even the conduit has water lying in it! The only solution is to dig up the blockwork , rerun all cabling in waterproof materials, and install adequately rated fixings. This needs to be done right through the Crescent. TW have avoided doing this for 2 years and attempted inadequate repairs but the problem is not going away! Please see that the correct works are carried out at the cost of TW. These are not new faults that need repairs but faults which have been going on since the beginning of residency here! Thanks! Steve
